Morne Diablotin...4,747 feet.

An early start. Daniel and Jamie got to the trailhead at 6:00, but had to wait for more light due to the darkness of the rainforest.
Just like all of the other tough hikes in Dominica, this one strongly recommended a guide. But what's the adventure in that? This hike took us a total of 7 hours. The sign must have been made when the trail was blazed when there were no branches or roots in your path. It didn't seem possible to get to the peak in only 2 hours.
The hike started off fairly easy at first. Man-made stairs for about 45 minutes, then this...
The trail was very wet and muddy.
We tried avoiding the mud early on in the hike, but then we began to not care anymore.
This hike didn't just work your legs. It was a total body workout.
You can tell Jamie was having fun.
More than half of the trail required you to climb over, under, and through the tree roots.
Jamie, going through the roots. Yes, this is the actual trail. We were on the right path.
Jamie, walking across the branches. At some points in the trail, you were about 4 or 5 feet above the ground.
